Announcing the 2021 STFM Annual Poetry and Prose Contest Winners

March 29, 2021—The STFM Ethics and Humanities Collaborative is excited to announce the 2021 STFM Annual Poetry and Prose Contest Winners. The theme of this year's contest is "Coping with Adversity: Expressions of Finding a Way Through."


POETRY
1st Place—Stolen Breaths by Megan Hansen
2nd Place—Touchstones by Ben Colburn, MD
Honorable Mention—Hoaxes by Sung Chae, MD

PROSE
1st Place—Stardust by Takudzwa Shumba, MD, MPH
2nd Place—What Works by Joanne Wilkinson, MD, MSc
Honorable Mention—Freedom by Troy Phillips, DO

OTHER
1st Place—Coverage Cap by Sarah Stumbar, MD, MPH
2nd Place—Staying Afloat, Taisha Doo, MD
Honorable Mention—COVID-19 Trilogy in 17 by Hedy Wald, PhD

Winners will be asked to present their pieces during the Virtual Poetry and Prose Reading on Monday, May 3 as part of the Annual Spring Conference.
