Grant Generating Project

This fellowship equips family medicine researchers with the skills they need to successfully develop and submit grants for research funding. Once learned, these skills continue to help generate new funds for family medicine research and training, year after year.

Fellows in the program learn to:

  • Move from concept paper to proposal
  • Formulate research questions
  • Research team composition
  • Conduct a literature search and create a bibliography
  • Organize a timeline and delegate tasks
  • Use editors and grant writers effectively
  • Understand common methods and design issues
  • Prepare a budget and budget justification
  • Manage data
  • Perform statistical analysis
  • Refine and revise proposals

The Grant Generating Project is supported by:

  • The Society of Teachers of Family Medicine
  • The North American Primary Care Research Group
  • The American Board of Family Medicine Foundation
