The STFM Research Committee bases the award selection on the quality of the research and its potential impact.
Papers submitted for consideration must have:
- Been published in a peer-reviewed journal published in a peer-reviewed journal the previous July 1 and June 30 prior to the year of award consideration
- A first author who is an STFM member.
To nominate a paper for the STFM Research Paper of the Year Award, send the following to Melissa Abuel at mabuel@stfm.org by November 8.
- A copy of the paper
- a nomination letter that documents the potential effect of the paper and its importance to patients’ health and well-being
The winning paper will be presented at the STFM Annual Spring Conference. The lead author will be asked to receive the award on behalf of the paper at the awards program. The lead author will receive a commemorative award, and a complimentary registration to the STFM Annual Spring Conference.
