STFM Research Paper of the Year

The STFM Research Paper of the Year Award recognizes a research paper published in a peer-reviewed journal the previous July 1 through June 30.

The STFM Research Paper of the Year Award recognizes a research paper published in a peer-reviewed journal the previous July 1 through June 30. The first author must be an STFM member.The STFM Research Committee bases the award selection on the quality of the research and its potential impact.The winning paper will be presented at the STFM Annual Spring Conference. The lead author will be asked to receive the award on behalf of the paper at the awards program. The lead author will receive a commemorative award, and a complimentary registration to the STFM Annual Spring Conference.

Criteria for STFM Research Paper of the Year

The STFM Research Committee bases the award selection on the quality of the research and its potential impact, and approval of the STFM Board. Note: Members of the STFM Research Committee who are eligible for the STFM Research Paper of the Year Award will not participate in selecting the award recipient.Papers submitted for consideration must have:

Been published in a peer-reviewed journal the previous July 1–June 30 prior to the year of award consideration
A first author who is an STFM member

To nominate a paper for the STFM Research Paper of the Year Award, send the following to Melissa Abuel at mabuel@stfm.org (linked email below) by November 8 each year:

A copy of the paper
a nomination letter that documents the potential effect of the paper and its importance to patients’ health and well-being
