Wellness is a critical part of preventing physician burnout and maintaining quality patient care. This course, featuring Catherine Florio Pipas, MD, MPH and Mark Greenawald, MD, will provide you with steps you need to take to develop and maintain your personal wellness.
The Wellness course is an online course containing videos, readings, and activities. The course will take about an hour to complete.

Video Mentors
Catherine Florio Pipas, MD, MPH, is Professor, Community & Family Medicine, The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice and Dept of Medical Education, Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth where she directs the Leadership Curriculum and the Social and Behavioral Determinants of Health course. She is author of A Doctor’s Dozen; 12 Strategies for Personal Health and A Culture of Wellness. Dr. Pipas is a past member of the STFM Board of Directors and the recipient of the 2019 STFM Humanism in Medicine Award. She also serves as the Chief Wellness Officer for Case Network – CoreWellness and consults and collaborates nationally with organizations and individuals to design, implement and sustain wellness initiatives.
Mark H. Greenawald, MD, serves as Medical Director for the Carilion Clinic Leadership Institute and as Chair for the Carilion Clinic/VTCSOM Faculty Vitality and Professional Well-being Committee. He has served as the Conference Chair for the AAFP Family Physician Health and Wellbeing Conference since its inception in 2018 and as faculty for the AAFP Chief Resident Leadership Development Program for the past 20 years, including serving as Director for the past 5 years. Certified as a Leadership and Executive Coach, he is also on the faculty of the Healthcare Coaching Institute. A former president of the Virginia Academy of Family Physicians, he was selected as the 20162017 Virginia Family Physician of the Year.

How To Enroll in the Course and Begin
To enroll in the course, sign in to stfm.org. When your profile page loads, click Store at the top of the page. The Wellness course will be towards the bottom. Add it to your shopping cart and complete the purchase. If you are an STFM member, you will not be charged. If you are not an STFM member, the price is $50.
Once you have purchased the course, return to your profile page by clicking the My Account link at in the top menu. Click Online Learning at the top. The course will be in the Courses section of the online learning center.
