The American Balint Society is a thriving, vital force in American medical education and the Balint Group method is applied in other professional domains as well (veterinary medicine, psychotherapy, education, pastoral care, collaborative law). We are proud of the quality of our leadership training and outreach activities, and invite your inquiries into our many programs. We are have been active with STFM for many years and frequently have members of our society presenting and providing Balint demonstrations.

Distribution organization for Equitable Holding, Equitable Advisors, through the Associations Business, provides comprehensive financial and retirement planning to meet STFM member needs and goals.

The objectives of the Department of Family Medicine are to:

• Provide medical students and residents with education and training that exemplifies excellence, compassion, and wholeness in the family medicine specialty.
• Educate students and residents to provide evidence-based, best-practice, chronic-disease care that spans the arc of care—from prevention to management of palliative care.
• Teach students to evaluate and manage common problems at the primary-care level, providing continuing and comprehensive health care for individuals of all genders and ages.
• Teach students and residents skills necessary for taking a spiritual history, and for incorporating spiritual and psychosocial dimensions into the biomedical aspects of clinical care.
• Introduce students and residents to the use of a systems approach and quality-improvement techniques to improve patient safety as well as assure the delivery of best-practice, evidence-based care to a population of patients.
• Introduce students to family physician role models so that students will be able to make informed choices regarding family medicine as a career option.

Providing resources for medical education and clinic care of patients with LEP in a culturally and linguistically appropriate way through courses and ready-made toolkits
