Residency Accreditation Toolkit: Accreditation Maintenance
Learn more about the process of annual reporting and self-evaluation for accreditation maintenance with the ACGME. Accredited programs will perform thorough program evaluations each year, create plans for continuous improvement, review residents' progress, and facilitate faculty and resident surveys for the ACGME.
ACGME Accreditation Calendar: Key Dates
- ADS Update: (July–August) Required program information is reported to the ACGME.
- Archive Case Logs: (July–August) Graduate records are archived for future reference.
- Schedule Clinical Competence Committee Meeting: (November and May); Consider what resident evaluations you will want in advance of the meeting and distribute them accordingly.
- Milestones: (November–December and May–June); Milestones for each resident are reported to the ACGME semi-annually.
- ACGME Faculty Survey: (February–April) The ACGME sets a completion rate requirement.
- ACGME Resident Survey: (January–May) The ACGME surveys residents independently.
- Annual Program Evaluation: (April–June) This should be done prior to than annual ADS update due in August.
